Dr. Punam Chauhan completed her Masters in Chemistry in 2002 and Library Science in 2004. She has done BEd in 2005 from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.

She clared the NET Examination in Library and Information Sciences in 2005. She has been Junior Research Fellow of Department of Library and Information Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2007 and awarded Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship of Department of Library and Information Science in 2007

She completed her doctoral degree in Library and Information Sciences from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2011. The topic of her research is Status, Occupational Characteristics and satisfaction among Women Library Professionals: A Study of UP Universities and Research Libraries in U.P.

She started the careeer as Assistant Professor in 2008. She served the position of Assistant Professor in Mahamaya Government Degree College Shravasti from 29 July 2008 to 9 August 2012. After that she joined Maharana Pratap Government Post Graduate College Hardoi since 10 August 2012 to 29 June 2018. She is working in this college since 30 June 2018

She has more than 17 years of library experinece and published more than 20 research papers in various National/ International journals and conferences. She has written the book chapters and published many books in various topics.

She is called for thesis evaluation form different Universities. She is invited to deliver lectures in different colleges so that the people there can benefit from her knowledge.
